An overseeing council (OC) has been created in order to supervise the National exit poll-2012 implementation, told head of the “Penta” Centre of applied political researches Volodymyr Fesenko during the press conference.

OC included eleven public experts: Olha Aivazovska (OPORA civic network project coordinator), Serhii Danylenko (chief editor of “Highway” internet portal), Andrii Horbachyk (dean of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv national university Faculty of sociology), Svitlana Zalishchuk (“Chesno“ civic movement coordinator), Andrii Kulykov (“Svoboda slova” TV program host, ICTV channel), Uliana Lozan (director general of UNN informational agency), Viktoriia Siumar (director of Institute of mass information), Oleksandr Chernenko (head of Committee of Voters of Ukraine), Volodymyr Fesenko (head of the “Penta” Centre of applied political researches ), Taras Shevchenko (head of Media Law Institute). Members of the OC elected Ihor Kohut, head of the Laboratory of legislative initiatives, as the head of the OC.

Volodymyr Fesenko told that the main function of the OC will consist in exerting independent civic control over the organizations which will conduct National exit poll. Moreover, OC members will assist exit poll organizers in popularization of the initiative which, according to Fesenko’s view, will have a large impact on quality of the electoral process and accuracy of election results.  The overseeing council will not either interfere in methodology of exit poll or exert control over interviewer’s job, but will assess each stage of exit poll, as well as evaluate reports of exit poll organizers.
